Imposing a Thirty-Day Stay for any Tenant Assistance Application

Section (I)(3) of the new rule:  This provides for a 30-day stay of proceedings if a resident applies for any sort of rental assistance, regardless of the amount due or how much the assistance might be relative to the rent due.  Covid relief funds are gone.  We will now be back to having residents apply for State Emergency Relief from DHS or from local funding sources.  It is unlikely they will pay any amounts close to what CERA paid. If you have experience with DHS and what they will or will not pay for residents who owe significant balances, you should explain that in response to this proposed change.
